Step Two: The Builder

The Builder will bring to life the well laid plans.

Most Architects and Designers have Builders that they recommend, and they tend to recommend people or teams of people that work well together and have a track record of executing well.  Think about it, why would they refer you to someone who does sub par work? Or is difficult to work with? This ultimately reflects poorly on all parties involved.   

There are some instances when a builder has such a great reputation that the customer selects the builder first, then finds the architect or designer, but typically the builder will require an intent to hire contract that guarantees some amount of compensation for their time spent prior to construction beginning.
